Three Bells - Week 7

Time is flying ... 7 weeks old already!

Charlotte loved Mum & Grant ~ and I believe the feeling was very much mutual!

She went in her cot (and slept!) for the very first time this week.  I missed it (she went in while I was having a nap) which I was a little sad about, but Matthew & I were very proud of her for sleeping in it first go.  She's absolutely mesmerised by the mobile, and I think she would quite happily lie there for hours watching it.

Doesn't she look so teeny in her cot?

She is really smiley & chatty in the mornings, it's just adorable.  She's such a morning person!  Matthew usually gets up around 6am & takes her for a while ~ changes her nappy, has some chatty time, and then takes her for a walk (while I grab another hour sleep ~ bliss!).  He also baths her every night.  Charlotte is just smitten with her Daddy, I love watching them together of a night time.  The way she looks up at him just melts my heart.

The change table seems to be one of her favourite places.  I'll usually sing to her, tickle her cheeks & feet etc. while I change her, and it always elicits all manner of squeals & smiles.

She had her longest sleep yet this week ~ five and a half hours!  She's usually quite good at sleeping overnight ~ a couple of 3 hour blocks (or thereabouts), and she settles quite easily after a feed.  She rarely cries when she wakes up at night now, but she obviously makes some kind of noise that I subconsciously recognise as her being awake, because I can sleep though grunts & groans, but always wake up when she needs a feed.  Day time sleeps are a different story!  She tends to be a bit of a cat napper.  I actually think she might be like her Dad, and has trouble sleeping when it's light.  She sleeps quite easily in the home theatre (with the blockout blinds) but it can be a struggle to get her to sleep for any length of time either in her bassinette or in her cot during the day time.  I will keep persisting though, as she needs to learn to sleep when it's light ... in theory, anyway!  I figure if she at least sleeps well at night, that's a start.

And finally, one last pic of her, looking cute in red. =)
