Cat burglar

For those of you who don't know ... our Hallie likes to steal things. It's usually just hair ties - from wherever she can find them: the bedside table, the coffee table, inside the bathroom cabinet. Then, of course, there was her love affair with the mop head. She also likes to steal my Mum's jewellery - we actually caught her red-handed (or is that mouthed?) when she walked past us all with one of Mum's rings in her mouth.

We all find it quite amusing, and call her our little klepto cat.

Well, she has excelled herself this time.

I was standing in the kitchen making myself a cup of tea on Thursday, when Halfrek comes waltzing in the door with a cat toy in her mouth. NOT one of her cat toys. She has stolen this cat toy from INSIDE our next-door neighbour's house! She proceeded to drop it on the ground, plop down in true Hallie style, and play with it. I was horrified!

I am embarrassed enough that Nik comes home to find Hallie sleeping on their lounge room floor ... but now to have her stealing? Mortified. Luckily Nik thinks it's the cutest thing she's ever heard (and also said that Hallie can keep the toy, because her girls don't like it anyway) ... but I've offered to buy them one of those cat flaps that only let her girls in.

Oh dear ... what am I going to do with that naughty cat?
