Low lifes & good samaritans

Our "luck" strikes again! It's probably karma from straying from our diet, but Matthew & I decided to go out for coffee & cake after he finished work last night. So we head down to our local restaurant, are happily tucking in to our very naughty treats, when the waiter comes up and asks us if we drive a Falcon, registration, well, yes - our car. "This lady has just witnessed someone reverse into your car & drive off." I wish I could say I can't believe it, but it's just the thing that would happen to us LOL ... although we got extremely lucky, firstly that someone witnessed it, secondly that they took down the details of it, and thirdly - and this is the kicker - she was an off-duty police officer. So we trundled off to the police station to file a report, they will get in touch with the guy & request that he contacts us to arrange to fix the car. There's not a lot of damage - but that's not the point! If he refuses, then they'll charge him. And now I have a cold! Great!! Matthew has a day off (at my request), we were going to go out to the wineries, and I'm here permanently attached to a tissue box feeling like crap. Aargh!
